Everyone says that you should have good communication skills in order to come with flying colors. Now the most important question arise how can we improve our communication skills. Improving skills is a process and cannot be accomplished overnight. So start working on yourself from this very moment with SSB Expert Team. And here we go.
Be a Good Listener
That’s right – most people have no idea that listening is a part of communication process. Be polite and don’t interrupt others when they are speaking. We are saying so because nobody likes being interrupted by any other candidate. It will just create disliking for you in your group. So our advice for you is that just try to understand the other candidate’s perspective. Be quick in making your point but avoid rushing in. You can understand this difference with an example i.e. Difference between walking fast and running. Learn how to value different viewpoints.
Watch Your Body Language
Don’t forget that you’re constantly communicating even when you’re not saying a word. Yawning, distraction & fidgeting are often signs of restlessness or impatience. We have one strange way to tap into your body for better communication. SSBClass Expert Team advice is “Think about your toes or adopt a power pose if you need to boost your confidence level.”
Always remember that when you are putting your points in front of other candidates during group discussion or personal interview your arms should not be in crossed position. It gives a negative impact.
Avoid nail biting. It clearly shows your level of anxiety and restlessness.
Watch Your Tone
While it’s sometimes necessary to be bold in order to make your point but don’t be aggressive ever. There is a fine line between the two. Try not to cross it. Disagreeing with each & everybody is not productive in any way. Be confident and straight forward with a polite tone.
Look People in the Eye
Many people feel odd about looking intensely into others’ eyes. Studies show that doing this conveys truth and honor.
Avoid Unnecessary Chit-Chat Words
Um’s and ah’s are part of our everyday conversations or better say chit chats. Avoid using these words in conversation during personal interview or GD in SSB interview.
Increase Your Vocabulary
For good communication, knowledge of wide range of vocabulary is indeed required .You can also use fixed phrases like: “Let me think for a moment, well I suppose….”
